The default speed limits

The standard speed limits in the Netherlands are 50 km/h in built-up areas, 80 km/h outside built-up areas, 100 km/h on motorways (autowegen) and 100 km/h from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 130 km/h from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on motorways (autosnelwegen). Only motorised vehicles capable of a speed of at least 50 km/h are allowed on expressways and motorised vehicles capable of a speed of at least 60 km/h are allowed on motorways.
