The terms driving ban and driving disqualification are often used interchangeably, but they do not mean the same thing.
Driving Ban
A driving ban is usually imposed directly by the police, for example for alcohol or drug use. You are temporarily prohibited from driving a vehicle.
With a driving ban, you are usually also prohibited from cycling if the ban applies to all vehicles in traffic.
Think of: temporarily not participating in traffic.
Driving Disqualification
A driving disqualification is a sentence imposed by a judge. You temporarily lose your driving license for motor vehicles.
With a driving disqualification, you are usually allowed to cycle, because a bicycle is not a motor vehicle.
Think of: temporarily losing your driver's license.
